Glaciers are the defining feature of the North Cascades. The range is home to the greatest concentration of perennial snowfields and alpine glaciers in the contiguous United States.
This route traverses rugged landscapes, connecting some of the highest peaks and most magnificent glaciers in the North Cascades.
This flight is inspired by Fred Becky’s book, “A Range of Glaciers: The Exploration and Survey of the Northern Cascade Range.” A resident of Seattle, Fred was one of North America’s most celebrated mountaineers. He holds the world’s record for the most first ascents, including many in the North Cascades.
